Course Objectives:

This course will show you how to teach prenatal classes to women in all stages of pregnancy and will explore yoga and mindfulness as tools for childbirth and beyond….for motherhood!

  • Anatomy and physiology of pregnancy and child birth
  • The benefits of mind and body methods in pregnancy and beyond
  • Postures to aid common discomforts
  • What poses are contraindicated
  • Special needs of the pregnant woman
  • Appropriate Pranayama practices
  • How to create a prenatal class?

Kate Beslemes a doula, midwifery student, massage therapist, hypnotherapist, and yoga instructor. Since moving to Bangkok five years ago, she has supported hundreds of women and couples in making choices through pregnancy and birth. She draws on the many gifts of yoga to stay present with a birthing woman and to encourage her to step into the center of her experience. She has two daughters.

Joung-ah Ghedini Williams as practiced yoga for eleven years and was teaching Anusara-inspired, pre-natal and post-natal yoga classes in Washington, DC before moving to Bangkok. Joung Ah is a mother of two.

Or-Yah (Ory) Avni is a certified yoga, Pilates and Gyrotonic teacher. She has been teaching for the past 12 years in the USA, Europe and Asia. She is a mother of four.

Pre-Requisites: A Certification in: Yoga, Pilates, Personal Training or equivalent.

Support Materials: will be provided by The Pilate studio.

Assessment: Written exam 6 weeks after the course

Hour’s Breakdown: 22 contact hours

Additional Logged HoursObservation 8 hours observation, Assistant Teaching 4 hours

Certification Requirements: 100% Attendance, Passing score on all assessments, Submission of 100 logged hours prior to Assessment.

Policies:

  • Minimum 4 participants to open the course
  • No refund or rescheduling after the start of the course
  • If registering 10 days prior to the beginning of the course (or less),  additional 10% charge will be levied for late registration
  • Materials are non-refundable when canceling
  • Rescheduling is not allowed

Cancelation policy:

  • If canceling 14 days before the beginning of the course (or more) 70% refund
  • If canceling 14 days before the start of the course (or less) 50% refund
  • No exceptions
